Sunset Beach or Camps Bay?

Both put the Atlantic into your Cape Town trip. The experience around the front door is very different.

Camps Bay is one of Cape Town’s most recognizable visitor neighborhoods, with the beach, restaurants and social energy concentrated together. Sunset Beach is quieter and more residential, with a much more expansive across-the-bay view of Table Mountain.

Camps Bay

Choose it for energy and convenience.

The appeal is immediate: a famous beach, cafés, restaurants and bars concentrated along Victoria Road, with the Twelve Apostles behind you. Families who want to walk out into a vacation atmosphere may prefer it.

The trade-off is that it is busier, more visitor-oriented and less like retreating to a quiet residential neighborhood at the end of the day.

Sunset Beach

Choose it for space and a slower return.

The beach, wind sports and huge Table Mountain view define the area. Bloubergstrand’s dining and activity are close by, but the immediate neighborhood feels calmer. It works particularly well if the home itself is an important part of the holiday.
